FIRST EVER DAVE MATTHEWS BAND MUSIC FESTIVAL!!!! SAY WHAT?!

Nooo, I'm NOT lying. DMB will be holding their FIRST EVER music festival, "Caravan" this summer!!!! Don't believe me? See for yourself: http://www.davematthewsband.com/

The first ever Dave Matthews Band  "Caravan" festival will take place June 24-26 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. DMB music? DMB fans? DMB tailgates? AND a cheesy, gambling party town?!? This is way too amazing! And that's not even the best part. There will be three other Caravans happening in July, August, AND September. Each of them for three days as well, making that a grand total of 12 days of Dave headlinging their own music festival with a RIDCK OUT OF CONTROL LINE UP thus far!

To my DMB FANATIC BEST FRIENDS, where's the RV? Cause we're "caravanning" our asses to CARAVAN this year!

Calling All Ravers: Miami's 2011 Winter Music Conference!!

So...today marks the kick off of my amazing and beautiful hometown Miami's Winter Music Conference 2011. And I couldn't be more bummed that I'm stuck at work, reading how stoked my friends are, and blogging about it instead of being there.
WOMP!

Nevertheless, every electronic music lover, DJ, and/or spontaneous human that's not in Miami at this very moment should buy themselves a plane ticket and get there immediately. Don't let the name fool you, WINTER in Miami is nonexistent. In fact, if you don't com back significantLy darker, you either A. did not stay at a hotel on the beach or B. partied your face off so hard, you spent your days in a hangover coma, which is probably the case.

Aside from being electro musical madness, WMC also attracts over 60,000 visitors from all over the world in just one week, turning Miami into an even bigger melting pot than it already is. A big percentage of that 60,000 are European males, so you know what that means ladies, HOT and SEXY Europeans with accents in Speedos!

To those lucky enough to go, enjoy my city!!!!

MUITO LEGAL!!! "Rock In Rio" 2011

So thanks to some new Brazilian friends I've met here in Los Angeles, I was recently introduced to "Rock in Rio," arguably the sickest music festival I've ever heard of in my life.Don't believe me? Take a look at this year's headliners: http://www.rockinrio.com.br/pt/lineup/
After you're done having a heart attack and come back for air, let me tell you that a little birdy (a legit source birdy) has also informed me that there is a very very high chance ManĂ¡ might also be performing at this year's Rock in Rio. RHCP, Elton John, Metallica, AND ManĂ¡? Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

September 23 -30 and October 01-02. That's right, it's a TWO WEEKEND festival. And the time in between is spent soaking up beautiful, bright, burning, Brazilian sun!

As my Brazilians say, MUITO LEGAL (pronounced legAO).

Translation: VERY NICE.

And indeeeeeeed it is!

Radiohead Wakes Up The RadioDead Yet Again!

Holy balls! Radiohead has done it again. And by it, I mean explode my musical brain and give me so many eargasms, I had to actually pause and smoke a stogie.

Despite all the haters that have called this album mediocre and Radiohead's most boring album to date, "The King of Limbs," just as "In Rainbows" and the legendary "Ok Computer" did, left me absolutely speechless and more importantly, converted some of my non Radiohead listener friends into avid fans!

"Limbs" is Radiohead's shortest album to date with only 8 tracks, but hot diggity damn!!! EVERY single one of them is out of control. If you're expecting the intensity and rage of  songs like "Body Snatchers" or the surging electric guitar riffs of "Pablo Honey," then hate to break it to ya, but you're going to be "LET DOWN." (Pun intended)

"Limbs"is without a doubt Radiohead's ultimate less is more project. It's an electric and I'd say 70 percent beat driven album that makes you want to dance, swirl, float, and fly all at the same time. Songs such as "Morning Mr. Magpie" open up with steady and intricate beats accompanied by smooth and mellow bass riffs with just enough force to allow you to hear and actually understand Thom Yorke's magically melancholy voice and lyrics.

Unlike some other Radiohead albums, "The King of Limbs" was not an acquired taste for me. As soon as I bit into it I felt like a fat kid in candy store, couldn't get enough; musical cocaine if you will.

Like with every other album, I uploaded "Limbs" into my ipod, went for a hike, and listened to the album in its entirety. Each time I closed my eyes I found myself in the same place. Running on a beach, in the middle of the night, as fast as my legs can take, with colors swirling all around me. Pounding each foot into the sand in perfect synch with "Lotus Flower's" crescendoing beats and throwing myself headfirst into the ocean as  "Give Up The Ghost" opens up with its bird chirps and simple bongo pounds.

"Limbs" is one of those soundtrack to your life albums that MUST BE HEARD! Not to mention this ridick amazing video. I STRONGLY recommend blasting this song and mimicking this dance.
